Happy Holidays From ZH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to wish everyone a great Holiday and here's to a Happy, Healthy 2009. Lots of friends and listeners have sent very supportive and kind messages in regards to Troy. Thank you very much for that and hope to share some goods with you in 2009. It's been a tough process for Troy and really don't have anymore to add to that. I should add sorry for not getting back to everyone as I do read your emails and do my best to stay caught up on the forums and ZH sites. Just want to wish you all the best and have  my fingers crossed to share good news with you all in 2009.

METAL TO YOU ALL AS YOU ALL RULE!!

TROY'S NEW BASS!!!!!
HAND MADE HAND PLAYED

A fresh release arrived on our desk : 420 pages full of “more than 300 of today's most creative, innovative and gorgeous guitars”. Robert Shaw put together this highlight and homage to the “finest and most innovative artisans of the past 25 years and the remarkable variety of high-quality instruments they are making” .

At page number 358, a beautiful Italian burl poplar top Manne instrument takes its place among the most representative guitars of this “greatest age of guitar building in history”.

We at Manne wish to thank Mr. Robert, being so proud of this honour, especially as we are the only Italian representative present in the book, except of course for the name of Antonio Stradivari.
We feel a great sense of reward at being recognized in this way for our small contribution of ideas and design to guitar building.

ZERO HOUR 2/NEWPORT/CUSTOM

Christmas came early this year my bass-bruthas & sistas!!!! The FedEx man delivered my beautiful new Manne Newport custom bass.
This new bass Andrea made is off the charts and looks so killer!!!

I decided to go with a korina body for its aggressive punch. The ash neck is covered with a black satin finish which makes it so easy for my thumb to anchor and slide. The resin fretboard and jumbo frets make my fingers dig in and shred.
I stuck with the EMG 40CS pick ups but went with a different preamp set from my previous bass, the EMG - BQS Control. I feel that this preamp/pickup combo works so well with this bass. Incredibly powerful and brutal but extremely clean and precise, just what I was looking for.

Finally no one can deny how cool "The Towers of Avarice" CD tray graphic looks on this bad boy. I went straight to Travis Smith for the layout and was so excited when he sent the file to Andrea. I stared at it everyday prior with excitement. Well this Bass is no longer a dream of mine to own.

I want to thank Andrea for making me two beautiful Basses and I couldn't be more satisfied. I also want to thank Richard for coming to my rescue and working with me on this Bass. Finally I want to thank Thomas and Alex of PPC Music for getting this bad boy delivered to my door step, YOU KATS RULE!!!

BTW, I plan on recording my next instrumental track titled, "The Ulnar Nerve Entrapment" with this killer new Bass. If you liked what I did on the track "Tendonitis" from "Dark deceiver" then you'll freaking love "The Ulnar Nerve Entrapment".
THANKS A MILLION!!!!!!

UPDATE ON OUR FRIEND AND OLD WEBMASTER BOB MARCHION, TROY'S SURGERY AND 1ST WAVE MAJOR MAGAZINE INTERVIEWS!!!!
Hey everyone I hope you're doing great and want to thank everyone who's sent a message with concerns towards Troy. I will get to that in a moment but I first want to send our condolences to our friend and webmaster for many year Bob Marchion on the passing of his father. I heard the news last night from Troy as Bob gave him a call to let us know about the horrible news. Bob we're very sorry about your loss man and just want you to know we love you and please send our condolences to the rest of the family.......BUDDAH IS METAL and again we're very sorry to hear about your father's passing.

Tomorrow will be a week when Troy had his Surgery. The Surgery from what the Doctor said went very well. It's been painful on Troy because he had a bad reaction to the painkillers so he's not taking anything to help with the pain. He's hanging in there and believes this was the best thing he can do. I feel this was something he had to do and I feel very good about his decision. He'll see his doctor tomorrow for an update. Troy has a cast all the way past his elbow and it's in a sling. Troy wants me to tell everyone thank you for thinking of him and he looks forward to sharing good news in the future on his progress.

I took some time out to get some of the major mag interviews out for viewing. I scanned the covers and interview pages for everyone to check out. This will be the first wave as I have many more to put up including Heavy (Germany) and Rock Tribune (Belgium). What I've posted is Metal Hammer (Germany), Aardschok (The Netherlands), Zero Tolerance (UK), Metal Edge (USA), Explicitly Intense (USA), Rock Hard (Germany), BW&BK (Canada) and The Metal Bulletin Issue 13. Check them out here

Want to wish everyone the very best as we're getting closer to 2009......CRAZY how time jams.

PROGPOWER EUROPE RULED AND THANKS FROM ZERO HOUR!!!!!
Just wanted to say we had the best time in Baarlo and want to thank Rene, Christian and all the staff at ProgPower Europe. The staff was amazing help to me (Jeroen & Martijn thanks for the help on the guitar gear) and the sound was amazing. Just a very friendly helpful crew Rene has and they all did an amazing job.

Want to thank all the people who attended this great event as we felt so great with the amazing response. So many great people we hung out with and so many great bands on the bill. So many great memories we have from this event. Hanging out with the guys from Alarum, our bro Marcel and his lady Miranda and the guys Sun Caged, Suspyre and the best yet I got to chat it up with Paul and Sean of CYNIC!! Their set was off the charts and just great people in that band. I Wish them so much success with their return.

We have so many friends we see at the event and just wanted you all to know you're the best. It's the best to chat with everyone and catch up. So many great people to thank as it would take forever and I'm afraid I'd miss someone.

Appreciate everyones positive vibes towards Troy and his upcoming Surgery and we'll do our best to keep you updated on him and ZH.

Thanks you for the best time we've had in a long time.

This is very tough for me to write as we deeply regret to say Zero Hour has to cancel the upcoming live performance at ProgPower Scandinavia. My brother Troy has been struggling with Tendonitis for many years and in the last year the pain in his Ulnar nerve and tendons have pushed him to his limits. Troy has already run up a large amount of medical bills this year. Having met the deductible requirements of his health insurance policy, Troy needs to have the surgery done (followed by 6 weeks of rehabilitation) before the year is up. Unfortunately this created a scheduling conflict with ProgPower Scandinavia.

I want to thank Claus of Intromental/ProgPower Scandinavia for being nothing but supportive towards our decision. Claus is a class-act and has done an amazing job with his promotions work (Intromental Promotions) for Zero Hour over the years. This was going to be our first time playing in Denmark and we were so excited to come play ProgPower Scandinavia. Claus has put together an awesome lineup as all the bands are very talented. We hope ProgPower Scandinavia is a great success because it's a great event run by great people.

We want to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing Zero Hour at ProgPower Scandinavia. This is the first time we've canceled an event and never wanted to be known as that type of band. It's very hard to see my brother in the condition he's in and this is the best thing for Troy and the band in the long run. ProgPower Europe will be our last event of 2008 and we'll do our best to let you know the status of Troy and the band in 2009.

As part of their upcoming European tour at the end of the year, the band will come back to Baarlo to offer you another splendid set of 1 hour. Zero Hour to play PROGPOWER SCANDINAVIA!!
Dates for this great event Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st www.progpowerscandinavia.com www.myspace.com/progpowerscandinavia

Latest announcement from PROGPOWER SCANDINAVIA.  To light up a dark Copenhagen in November, we have summoned the sun all the way from California in the form of one of this Worlds most equilibristic and technical bands - Zero Hour . A band that has played on both the American and the Dutch versions of ProgPower. Why should the Scandinavians be robbed of the chance of watching this amazing band? With the twin brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton on bass and guitar, the extreme shredding is secured. With Mike Guy to keep the rhythms alive and the great voice of Chris Salines (ex-Power Of Omens) to top the cake, the energy and musicianship of Zero Hour will secure a show that will not be forgotten at The Rock and in the minds of the audience.
